30. December 2010: Jubilee Café

| January 1, 2011 | 0 Comments

Hearty fast food-like dishes is what you can find in the Jubilee Café in Victoria/Rabat on Gozo, the sister island of Malta. The Pulpetti (Maltese Meatballs) tasted great as they were enriched with onions and spices (EUR 9.25) – the salad on the other hand was pretty boring and the French fries were just okay. What is for sure though is that they are good at making tasty meatballs and that they are pretty filling.

The atmosphere of the Jubilee Café is really nice as it is entirely held in a design from the 20ies and decorated all over with old ads and other stuff hanging from the ceiling. The size of the Café leads to some space problems so you can not be a claustrophobic person in order to enjoy the (not existing) space you have at your table.

The waiters / waitresses are really friendly and helpful and are fulfilling your wishes within really short time. They charged us for an extra espresso we didn’t have though – a definite No Go!

The prices are really decent (EUR 0.95 for a water, EUR 2.00 for a double espresso) for what you get. Although the food is not the most outstanding one – although the pie my company had was really tasty – it is good and you’ll have enough, so it’s perfect to have a quick lunch (as for once, the Jubilee Café is a restaurant on Malta where people actually serve you within a reasonable timeframe) after visiting La Citadelle.
