Traditional atmosphere, average experience: Landgasthof Val d’Uina (8. March 2019)

| May 11, 2019 | 0 Comments

The Landgasthof Val d’Uina is located a bit in the middle of nowhere and is a very simple place in terms of interior decoration. It really creates this feeling of being in a place with a lot of Swiss tradition. The service is friendly and attentive but the kitchen is a bit slow. I waited for a solid 30 minutes until my “farmer’s roesti with the sausage from Ruodi from Engadin)” (CHF 22.50) was brought to the table. The sausage was good but very taut, so you have to be very careful when you cut the sausage. The roesti was okay but nothing overwhelming.

Price-wise, things are fine which is also true for the beverages although they are not exactly cheap (e.g. 1L water, CHF 9.00; double espresso, CHF 6.50). If you want to relax in a traditional atmosphere, the Val d’Uina is fine, if you expect culinary adventures, I wouldn’t recommend it.
