Lovely food bar located in a delicacy store: Restaurant Ergon Agora (16. March 2019)
In my – admittedly outdated – tourist guide, the Ergon was mentioned as a place where they offered typical Greek dishes, so I definitely had to give it a try. And it was a good decision. It is more of a delicacy store than anything else but has a couple of tables and a bar. Getting a table is rather tricky as the place is crowded and there arent’t too many tables available. But you easily find space at the bar. I went for the “home-made ‘bougatsa’ cheese pie from Kozani” (EUR 3.50) and the “home-made ‘bougatsa’ minced meat pie” (EUR 3.50). Both were good but the cheese pie was definitely more delicious.
The “freddo espresso” (EUR 3.00) was as intense as it usually is – and would, in my opinion, not be enjoyable if you don’t add sugar to it.
The place is – as stated – more like a delicacy shop than a restaurant which is part of the atmosphere and the charm.
In case you suddenly forget where you are, you can always have a look at the wall behind you (if you sit at the bar) where it is clearly and in big letters stated where you are.
I liked the Ergon Agora – a lovely little place offering tasty dishes in a nice atmosphere with friendly service.
