The perfect Italian lunch – with incredibly slow service: Restaurant Facincani (4. April 2019)
Tasty lunch? Yes, definitely! Efficient lunch? No, definitely not! The Facincani is a lovely Italian place which serves yummy dishes – however, the speed of the service and the kitchen, respectively, is not really what I would call satisfying. It takes ages until you finally get what you’ve ordered. I went for the ‘lunch set menu’ which started with a “tomato soup” which was good because it still contained actual pieces of tomatoes and was, therefore, rather intense in flavor.
The “gnocchi with gorgonzola sauce” (CHF 20.00) were a huge portion and were absolutely delicious! But it took a solid 30 minutes to serve them after the tomato soup was taken. Which is, in my opinion, too long for gnocchi.
However, the place is lovely in terms of interior design and atmosphere but they really have to do something to speed up production in the kitchen. It is different if I have a luscious and extensive dinner planned but if I want the ‘set menu lunch’, I expect this to happen rather swiftly. So, as much as I can recommend the Facincani for lunch in terms of taste, as little I can recommend it in terms of speed.
