Amazing atmosphere with tasty dishes: Restaurant Zunfthaus zur Zimmerleuten (10. April 2019)
The Restaurant Zunfthaus zur Zimmerleuten has a lovely little dining hall on the 2nd floor I was able to visit in the context of an event. The menu chosen was actually great and in thus far surprising as the focus of the event wasn’t dinner. The starter was an “asparagus salad with sun-dried tomatoes and ham chips” which was refreshing and generally good. Although the ham chip was a bit too crispy for my personal gusto.
The “white tomato cream soup with basil oil” was decent – too much cream for my personal gusto but else good.
What was actually much better than expected was the “veal steak in a morel cream sauce served with butter noodles and glazed carrots”. The meat was tender, rich and smooth.
The “crispy puff pastry pillow with marinated strawberries and airy vanilla foam” was a good ending to the evening. Overall, nothing overwhelming but a decent ending.
The service is friendly and efficient and makes sure your glass is never empty. The food is good, solid but what is truly amazing is the room respectively the location – definitely worth visiting!
