A very modern tapas concept across all continents: Restaurant Eat Me (8. May 2019)

| June 1, 2019 | 0 Comments

It is quite some time ago since I’ve been to Lausanne but given I had about an hour between arrival and my meeting, I decided to get lunch and the ‘Eat Me’ is a good selection for such an endeavor! They offer a “business trip menu” for CHF 34.00 where you are allowed to pick from any three dishes on the menu and I went for “El Dorado (ceviche de dorade marinée au fruit de la passion, jus de yuzu, gingembre, patate douce et chlorophylle d’herbes fraîches)” which was okay. I have had better ceviche but the combination of flavors and texture was overall a pleasant one.

The “Hummus (délicate purée de pois chiches aux herbes fraîches, pain pita artisanal)” on the other hand was quite exquisite! Smooth, full of taste and absolutely enough!

The “better than butter (burrata farcie à la confiture maison de framboise / basilic, huile d’olive au basilic, pistaches et toasts de pain aux céréales)” was in thus far interesting as it combined the sweet note of raspberry jam and the oily intensity of basil but it was somehow lacking the surprise element the other dishes had. And in my opinion a hint of balsamico (reduction) wouldn’t have harmed the dish!

The place is relatively large but also decently frequented and they make sure that your dishes are served relatively swiftly which is nice if you are there for a swift lunch. The service is friendly and caring making sure you have everything you need and want in time. Definitely can recommend to visit when you are in Lausanne!
