Lovely Indian dehli restaurant in a luxury hotel: Restaurant Hankies @ Montcalm Hotel Marble Arch (8. May 2019)
The Hankies is not really a place you are looking for and it is even hard to spot by walking by. However, if you stay at the Montcalm Hotel the Hankies is kind of the natural choice to dine. The style of the restaurant is like an Indian dehli and the food is actually simple but delicious. I went for the “butter chicken (Classic Dehli style, pulled roasted chicken, buttery tomato sauce, fenugreek and garammasala)” (8.50 GBP) which was relatively spicy and actually a quite tasty combination with the rice.
The “Bhatak Ki Khurchan (crispy duck, masala cashew nuts, mint, watermelon, and sweet and spicy drizzle)” (6.00 GBP) was the perfect addition as the butter chicken portion wasn’t overwhelmingly large but rather tiny. But the duck was quite lovely although the tangerine didn’t really fit – at least in my opinion.
What I liked about the Hankies was the friendliness of the service and the comfortable atmosphere. In combination with the good food and the relatively fair prices, I can recommend the Hankies when you’re in its vicinity.
