Very Italian restaurant but average food: Restaurant LaVigna (14. May 2019)

| June 9, 2019 | 0 Comments

Dinner at the Restaurant LaVigna is a very pleasurable experience. The place is kind of your typical local Italian restaurant – loud, full, crowded, a lot and tasty food. We went for a set menu which started with a selection of tasty little appetizers like bruschette with olive spread, tomatoes and onions.

The slices of tuna and the beef slices were as good as the bruschette.

The burratta with mozzarella salad was quite good as well although the tomatoes were a bit out of season.

The meat balls were a bit too meat bally for me …

… but I like the cheese-stuffed peppers a lot.

As well as the zucchini!

The salmon carpaccio wasn’t entirely to my liking to be honest as it was somewhat too oily for my personal gusto.

The “pasta al gamberoni” on the other hand was good as the prawns were delicious and the pasta was cooked al dente. However, the portion was bit too small to share.

But luckily, they also served a second course of gnocchi which was then enough.

The vegetables which were served with the main course were good …

… and so were the chicken legs. However, somehow this isn’t too typical of Italian food, respectively relatively un-inspired if you ask me!

However, the LaVigna is lively, crowded, active, and the staff is generally very helpful and friendly and makes sure you never run out of wine or water – just as it should be. Therefore, all in all, I can recommend you to visit the La Vigna. Booking in advance highly recommended.
