Great view over the city of Zurich: Restaurant Die Waid (17. May 2019)

| June 10, 2019 | 0 Comments

It is years ago since I’ve paid the restaurant Die Waid a visit and finally it was time again. I went for the “Crostini tomato tartar” (CHF 11.50) which was a personal disappointment at first as I had overread ‘tomato’ part of it and had expected beef tartar. Well, I must admit, the tomato tartar was actually quite tasty in the end so ultimately nothing to complain about.

The “150gr beef filet” (CHF 52.00) on the other hand was perfectly medium-rare as ordered. However, the grill flavours could have been a bit more intense.

The “market vegetables” which were served with it were fine as well and went well with the meat.

The wine I had chosen, the “Barolo Massolino” (CHF 85.00) was good in terms of flavor and bouquet. The prices for the beverages like CHF 7.00 for a “double espresso” or CHF 9.10 for one litre of water are also okay. What is most amazing about it is the view over the city! If you manage to get a table by the window – or move towards the window later during dinner, you should definitely do so.
