Mouth-watering good veal flank steak: Restaurant Huusbeiz (22. May 2019)

| June 12, 2019 | 0 Comments

It was quite a couple of times that I’ve driven by this restaurant and it has changed its name over time. Finally, it was time to give it a try and I visited the now called ‘Huusbeiz’. Even though it wasn’t very crowded, I would highly recommend you to book a table in advance as the place is relatively small and, therefore, it is full quite swiftly. Once seated, you are served a little greeting from the kitchen, in this case, a “popcorn mousse”. Not necessarily my favourite flavour in the world but definitely tasty in the form served.

As a started I went for the “lettuce pea soup with smoked catfish and mint” (CHF 14.00) …

… which was intense in flavor. The fact that the catfish is apparently from Lake Zurich and has been smoked there is something I was not able to determine from its taste ;)

However, what was truly breath-taking was the “veal flank steak with asparagus from Flachs and sauce Béarnaise” (CHF 48.00). The meat was so tender and yet so juicy and so full of meat flavor it was a dream come true! Frankly, among the best flank steak I have tried in my life so far! The asparagus from Flachs was great as well.

The place is lovely in terms of interior design and has also a small terrace which is comfortable to sit, however, given you are located right next to the main street it can become a bit noisy at times. The service is friendly and attentive and makes sure you get everything you need and want in due time. All in all, the Huusbeiz is definitely that – a very solid solution for a good dinner!
