Looks more promising than it actually is: Restaurant Barz (4. June 2019)

| June 26, 2019 | 0 Comments

The Restaurant Barz is located in the old city of St. Gallen and in a quite lovely atmosphere when you get to sit outside and enjoy the nice weather. The menu is rather small but you find something suitable right away. The only downside is the speed of the service – they are super friendly but they need quite some time until they actually show up, bring the menu, and then later take the order. I went for the “mixed salad with bio balsamico dressing” (CHF 10.50) which was absolutely average.

Now, the “home-made ravioli stuffed with polenta from Onsernone, served with dried tomatoes and Sbrinz from the Alps” (CHF 27.00) was disappointing as the pasta was really just pasta dough. And the stuffing with polenta wasn’t that great. However, the dried tomatoes with Sbrinz from the Alps was actually a delicious combination. A pity the pasta itself wasn’t!

So, to sum it up – a lovely place, with slow service and average dishes. Not necessary to visit again.
