An amazingly sweet experience: Restaurant Milk Bar East Village (17. June 2019)
Only lately, I was watching ‘Chef’s Table’ and there is an episode about ‘Milk Bar’ and it is mentioned that it is located right across the Momofuku Ssäm Bar. So, naturally – and also because Momofuku pointed us in the direction of Milk Bar to get actual coffee – I decided to give it a try. Now, the flavors of the ice cream are a bit special (or at least unusual) which are “cereal milk” and “compost”, but who cares, I decided to try it anyways. The “soft serve compost cereal with sprinkles” (5.50 USD plus 0.50 USD for the sprinkles) is quite a portion so if you’ve had a full meal beforehand, maybe don’t take the “twist” (both flavors together).
In terms of taste, it is an interesting combination – super sweet, but interesting. The place itself is super tiny – and there was a line at 10pm. It is wort the – admittedly – short wait.
Although, if I wouldn’t have known due to Chef’s Table, I probably wouldn’t have walked in to give it a try. I’m glad though, I did.
Also, because the “espresso” (2.50 USD) they serve there was quite tasty. So, if you dine at Momofuku Ssäm Bar, you should definitely plan in a short visit to Milk Bar!
