Decent breakfast buffet but not worth traveling for: Restaurant Bistrôa @ Fontecruz Hotel (22. June 2019)
The breakfast buffet at the Fontecruz Hotel is fitting the hotel perfectly – it is a bit exclusive in terms of what kind of ingredients and dishes you get but it is also a bit small in terms of selection. Frankly though, the Bistrôa offers enough of everything for you to have a nice and functional breakfast ranging from fruit …
… to a variety of cheeses, salad, cold cuts …
… honey, jams, cereals, yogurts …
… cakes and sweets …
… as well as bread and an omelet station. Now, while the omelet wasn’t really that exquisite in terms of flavor, at least it was provided very slowly (careful: irony!). It took them a solid 25 minutes to produce a ham and cheese omelet. I would get it if it was a) super crowded or b) so incredibly delicious afterwards. But it was a very average omelet and it definitely took too long for that.
But, I must admit, I like the place in terms of interior design and atmosphere and the fact that there is a guy playing at the piano until breakfast is over is just somehow very appealing.
So, all in all, if you stay at the Fontecruz Hotel anyways, you should definitely make sure to have breakfast here. If you don’t, I would say, it’s not worth coming here just for the breakfast.
