Great location with good food and arbitrary service: Restaurant Razzia (15. July 2019)
I haven’t been to the Razzia for quite a while and finally it was time to give it a try and this time I went for a vegetarian option. As a starter I went for the “eggplant Ccarpaccio (feta cheese, pomegranate seeds)” (CHF 18.00) which was great as it was light, refreshing and yet very aromatic.
The interior of the Razzia is very stylish as the room is extremely spacious and has high ceilings. The giraffe which is about 3 meters tall somehow adds to the atmosphere. What is somehow varying in quality is the service. Some of the waiters do an outstanding job and make sure you have what you order within minutes. Others, on the other hand, take ages and are super uncoordinated. It seems like one waiter was kind of “out of a job” so randomly popped by on a regular basis asking exactly the same question as the waiter who would attend us. And when we had finally asked for the bill, it took a solid 10 minutes for him to bring it.
The main course, I went for, the “tuna tatar (pickled vegetables, nut butter-miso-emulsion)” (CHF 38.00) was tasty but it was – frankly speaking – a bit of a tiny portion. I mean, of course, it’s not like you have a portion which feeds you for two days but five bites seems a bit tiny for a main for CHF 38.00.
All in all, I still like the Razzia as it is a great restaurant with good dishes and fair service – depending on which waiter is attending you.
