Good Middle Eastern food where you have to get everything yourself: Restaurant Binz & Kunz (25. July 2019)
What you can find at the Restaurant Binz & Kunz is a somewhat relaxed atmosphere where you get to sit outside and to do everything yourself. You want a drink? Go queue, and get it yourself? You want food? Go queue, order, pay, and wait for it and queue there again. Now, I get the concept of relaxed and cool and all that but somehow I think it would be nice if you’d have someone who served you.
However, given that is explicitly not the concept of this place, one has to queue. I went for the “hummus (chick pea mousse with sesame cream)” (CHF 10.00) which was surprisingly tasty and smooth and rich. So, no complaints in terms of what they produce.
The “halloumi with salad and humus” (CHF 14.00) was – surprisingly – also good and not chewy at all. The grill chef told me that they had just bought a new one which doesn’t fall apart so easily as apparently the old one used to.
All in all, the Binz & Kunz is a place with a very relaxing atmosphere and, therefore, nice, but it really delegates all activities to the guest – something I personally don’t like too much in a restaurant.
