Lovely location and tasty dishes: Restaurant La Cuisine du Dimanche (3. August 2019)

Luckily, TripAdvisor is sometimes very reliable as it was also today. After strolling the pretty old town of Avignon and finding out that the ‘food hall’ isn’t really all that appealing, it was time to have some lunch and the La Cuisine du Dimanche was just perfect. We were rather lucky because all the visitors which came after us were not served anymore.

I went for the “entrée du jour: soupe de courgettes vertes, servie froide, volaille moelleuse, tomates confites et pignon de pin” (EUR 14.50) which was a super thick and intense zucchini soup with a lot of added ingredients which really made it a delicious course.

And the “glace artisanale (Caramel Beurre Salé & Calisson)” (EUR 4.50) were as good – especially the Calisson as this is a flavor I have never tried before in my life.

The place is basically a very narrow long area which starts with a little patio (in which we were sitting) …

… and an inside restaurant. All in all it is just appealing in terms of design.

Of course, there are also very “inspirational” quotes on the bathroom – not sure if that’s necessary or helpful but at least entertaining.

The waitress was very friendly and helpful at all times, however, given she was the only one conducting the service, it took sometimes quite a bit until you were served which is something I massively dislike, especially in the beginning when I want something to drink. All in all though, the La Cuisine du Dimanche is a lovely place, if you are not in a hurry!
