Great for lunch but on the more expensive side: Restaurant Zur alten Post (14. August 2019)

| September 16, 2019 | 0 Comments

I started liking the “Zur alten Post” quite a lot since it is a restaurant which is great in terms of lunch offerings. Not entirely on the cheap side but I like what they offer and the way it is prepared. When you’re seated inside, the atmosphere of the place is absolutely lovely as it is entirely held in wood and just overall very atmospheric. As a starter, I went for the “menu mushroom soup” (CHF 5.80) which was good but a bit small (even for a starter).

As a main, I went for the “veal stripes, mushrooms, cream sauce, roesti” (CHF 39.80) which was a decent portion and absolutely delicious. The meat was tender and rich and the sauce was luscious. The roesti was a bit too dry for my personal gusto but in combination with the sauce, it still turned out to be an exquisite dish.

The service is friendly and professional but not really the quickest there is – the waiting time between the soup (which was done in a few minutes) and the main dish was over 30 minutes which is just too much.
