Superb value for money during lunch: Restaurant vis-à-vis (20. August 2019)
So far, I only knew the vis-à-vis as a coffee / breakfast place but it was finally time to give them a try as a lunch restaurant and I was quite positively surprised. I went for the “potato majoram soup” as a starter which was not only a decent portion but also great in taste.
As a main, I went for the “thinly cut roast beef, served with sauce tartare and a small salad bouquet” (CHF 26.00). The roastbeef was of good quality and the sauce tartare was fine too. I wouldn’t have mind if the pieces in the sauce would have been chunkier but it fit well with the roast beef and was just generally delicious.
Last but not least, there was a “small dessert” included in the menu price which was not my favorite but it was good. And frankly, where do you get three courses in Zurich for CHF 26.00 as a lunch offer. I couldn’t point out a single place. Additionally, I was surprised how good the food is and ultimately also how swift they were able to bring the courses.
The place is atmospheric as it is kind of like a French bistro and the service is friendly. The “quality” of the service varies greatly between the different waitresses. Some of them were truly friendly and helpful while others were more in a grumpy mood. If you intend to have lunch here, make sure you book your table in advance. I can recommend it.
