Delicious dishes but not really up to date service performance: Restaurant Le Tube (5. September 2019)

| October 8, 2019 | 0 Comments

The Le Tube is a rather large premise in the center of Cannes and it is overall quite lovely in terms of atmosphere but it is also rather loud and if you are in a larger group you will definitely spend some time waiting for the food and beverages. However, the dishes are not so bad, e.g. the “creamy burrata (mango, avocado, passion fruit gaspacho, shards of nuts, arugula)” was rather luscious in terms of flavor.

Further starters were – among others – “beef tagliata (shaved Parmesan, artichoke, summer truffles, arugula, home-made French fries)” which was better than I had expected as the meat was actually of decent quality and the combination of flavors and textures really added to the balance of the dish.

The “Le Tube pizzetta (mozzarella, arugula, Iberico ham, summer truffles)” and “artichocke with summer truffles (raw and cooked artichoke salad, parmesan, shaved truffles, arugula)” was rather average in terms of flavor also due to its consistency. I guess one just does not have to go to France to eat Italian food like a pizza.

Although I had expected that the meat was going to be rather disappointing, it turned out to be good. The “marinated beef filet skewers, french freis, lamb chops marinated with lemon” were delicious and frankly not enough.

All in all, I think the Le Tube is a nice place which is perfect if you are not arriving there with a tremendously large group. In terms of alcohol selection and speed of service there is definitely room for improvement though!
