Lovely service but incredibly slow: Restaurant Einstein Bistro (11. September 2019)

| October 16, 2019 | 0 Comments

If you are in a hurry for lunch, the Einstein Bistro is not the best place but they are doing a good job in terms of service and customer orientation. I walked in around 2pm to get some food as it was only late when I found the time to have something for lunch. And although they were about to ‘close’ the restaurant during the afternoon, the waiter was super helpful in making sure that I would still get something to eat, so I ordered the “home-made bistro burger with Emmental, tomato, cucumber and roasted onions” (CHF 29.00) and “French fries” (CHF 6.00).

Now, if you want to enjoy it, you have to wait quite a bit. It took them a solid 30 minutes to prepare it. I’m not saying that is entirely unjustified but if you are the only customer sitting in that restaurant you would somehow expect for it to be prepared swifter.

However, the burger was actually good, i.e. the beef patty and the toppings (or however you call the other things between the buns but the patty). The buns on the other hand could have been a bit crispier. And the French fries were definitely lacking salt and could also have been a bit crispier. All in al though, the burger is a good choice if you have sufficient time to eat it and aren’t in a hurry to get it on your plate. All in all, the Einstein Bistro remains a place with friendly and good service but also a place which isn’t the quickest in terms of preparing the food.
