Absolutely exquisite bar with great drinks: Katze Katze (12. October 2019)
I thought “Katze Katze” (cat cat) is the weirdest possible name for a bar, especially if the somehow official name is ‘Landhauskeller’. However, the place is more cat cat than a cellar. There is a lovely bar in the middle of the patio and they serve quite tasty drinks. At first, I went for the “Big in Japan (Monkey 47, lychee juice, yuzu purree, hibiscus bitters, yasmine petals)” (EUR 10.50) which was absolutely delicious!
The second drink was rather standard, i.e. the “Gin Basil (Beefeater, basil, lemon juice, sugar cane syrup)” (EUR 10.50) which was basil-y and lemon-y!
As a last drink, I went for the “His Maracuja (Havana Anejo 7, fresh passion fruit, lemon juice, sugar cane syrup, pineapple juice)” (EUR 10.50) which was also flowery and delicious.
The bar really is lovely which might also be supported by the fact that the heater emits red light and puts everything into an interesting perspective.
And, if you look around a bit, you can find many signs making it clear that the place is “cat cat” as the “miau” (German word for the sound a cat makes aka “meow”) …
… or the menu.
While I believe that the name of the place is a bit funny, it is a well thought-through concept which offers absolutely delicious drinks definitely worth trying. It’s a great location before dinner as well as after dinner!
