Always perfect for cheese fondue for breakfast: SWISS First Class Lounge Terminal E (1. November 2019)

| November 23, 2019 | 0 Comments

It is always a pleasure to return to the SWISS First Class Lounge in the Terminal E in ZRH airport as you are treated in an amazing way and there is a nice selection of different delicious dishes. This time I went to New Dehli (LX146) and decided to have a “beef tartare (rocket salad emulsion, Sbrinz cheese, sesame, capers, toast)” as a starter. I like the way it is displayed and the little side elements served with it. The beef on the other hand wasn’t that amazing – you can definitely taste that it was frozen before and not freshly cut (well, no surprise there).

Given I was absolutely blown away by the cheese fondue in the lounge the last time, I decided that it was time to try it again for breakfast! The “Swiss Cheese Fondue (home-made bread, small potatoes)” is definitely a good choice when you are in the lounge as it is a nice portion for one person and the cheese fondue mixture is actually super tasty! The “Torre del Falasco Valpolicella Superiore Ripasso, 2016” is a nice adding to the fondue but not really exquisite.

What I like most about the place is the actual lounge as it is spacious, stylish, and just in general very lovely!

There are little lounge areas where you have some privacy …

… even meeting areas …

… and of course a large selection of wines if you have the time ;-)

The same is true for champagne! Today, the service wasn’t that exquisite. The waitress was relatively moody (not sure if that’s the right word but it was definitely not the friendliness I would expect).

The area where you get to eat isn’t extremely large but it fits enough people to make sure everyone gets to sit down and enjoy accordingly. And you can definitely see that close to lunch time, people tend to come in for lunch.

The SWISS First menu has a monthly topic …

… and this time it was St. Gallen. Given, I didn’t have the time to try their tasting menu, it ended up being the before mentioned beef tartare and the cheese fondue.

So, when you get to fly First Class with SWISS, I can definitely recommend you to visit the Lounge in Terminal E (check-in in Terminal A and get driven over so it is a rather painless experience) and enjoy the wine, champagne and dishes before your long haul flight.
