Perfect lunch before a short-haul flight in Europe: SWISS First Class Lounge A (5. November 2019)

| December 1, 2019 | 0 Comments

When you have a long-haul flight in First, you are allowed to use the First Class lounge in Zurich after arrival if you have another flight the same day – as did I. So, it was perfect to briefly go home, drop the luggage, get a shower, and finally get back to the airport to have breakfast in the lounge.

Given that I had the beef tartar and the cheese fondue four days ago, I decided to try something else from the menu and went for the “Caesar salad (sautéed chicken breast, Sbrinz cheese, tomatoes, croûtons, bacon-chip)” which was actually surprisingly delicious. I have had many bad caesar salads so far but this was a very welcome change / surprise as it was well-balanced and flavorful.

As a main, I went for the “Zürcher Geschnetzeltes (veal stripes in a typical mushroom cream sauce with roesti)” which was again incredible! Zürcher Geschnetzeltes can be prepared in so many wrong ways but this was truly delicious!

The interior of the SWISS First Class Lounge Terminal A is definitely nice and while it isn’t as big as the one in Terminal E, it has a nice interior and is quite enjoyable.

Furthermore, you get to watch the chefs prepare your meal which is always nice / a good sign.

The service was very friendly and professional so one would also ‘forgive’ the slight errors like topping up the glass with the ‘wrong’ champagne or failing to see that the water glasses were empty.

In any case, if you are flying First or have flown first and have a connecting flight on the same day, make sure to use the lounge for breakfast – definitely worth it!
