Perfect understanding of what people want for a lunch: Restaurant Brauwerk (11. November 2019)
The Brauwerk belongs to the Schützengarten group (a brewery in St. Gallen) and offers a nice selection of different dishes and very inexpensive lunch combinations. The menu (CHF 20.00) included a “tomato soup” which was good but served surprisingly quick (about 2 minutes after we had placed our order). In any case, I highly appreciate the speed of the service given usually one does not have that much time for lunch.
As a main course, I had the “brewery lasagna with hop béchamel, malt bolognese and roasted onions” which was surprisingly light for a lasagna and absolutely enjoyable. The service was swift and besides a little faux-pas that she showed up with the bill after the starter (wrong table) which was laughed away, all was very good.
All in all, the Brauwerk has understood that you want a swift service for lunch and has executed that perfectly – booking in advance is recommended as the place is quite full.
