Perfect for pintxos for an early dinner: Restaurant Pintxame (30. November 2019)

| December 25, 2019 | 0 Comments

Given the Pintxo place I wanted to go was closed (i.e., their kitchen wouldn’t open again until 8pm) and I was hungry anyway, I decided to roam the streets to find a place which offers pintxos at about 6pm and I randomly  found the Pintxame which looked super appealing as it was a tiny place, absolutely crowded, almost no tourists, and there was a nice selection of pintxos. One pintxo costs EUR 2.60 which I consider absolutely fine not only because they are tasty but also because they are quite big so it definitely isn’t a rip off.

The selection is quite luscious and if you have time and enjoy one glass of wine after the other (Rioja Crianza, EUR 3.20), you can definitely get a lot here!

Given, I wanted to eat something warm too, I decided to have the “croquetas jamón Iberico” (EUR 10.00) which were fine but nothing spectacular, especially compared with the pintxos.

The “pimientos de padron” (EUR 6.00) on the other and were great as they weren’t burned (as it happens so often) and the salt was applied evenly so you would not have pimientos without salt and some with a lot of salt.

I liked the place quite a lot as it was simple, small, yet very honest and local.

So, if you’re hungry to a non-Spanish dinner time (i.e. earlier than 8:00 / 8:30pm), then the Pintxame is perfect for some little nibbles to enjoy. The only thing which isn’t so great is the fact that you always have to walk up to the counter to get your stuff.
