Good and simple but surprisingly big tapas: Taberna Casa Globo (30. December 2019)

| February 7, 2020 | 0 Comments

After wandering the city of Córdoba by foot for a couple of hours, it was time for a brief lunch stop and the Taberna Casa Global just looked like an enjoyable location to do exactly so. Once seated, you are served “bread with olives” (EUR 0.95). Now, I wasn’t hungry for the bread but I tried the olives and frankly they were very enjoyable.

The portions are surprisingly huge even for tapas which only account for EUR 3.95. I went for the “pincho de carne al estilo Casa Globo” (EUR 3.95) and the “dúo de patatas confitadas con salsa mojo picón y curry” (EUR 3.95) and while the pincho was good in terms of flavor, I absolutely liked the patatas confitadas with their sauce but the potatoes were humongous!

The same was true for the “croquetón de rabo de toro” (EUR 3.95) which had the size of an egg and was enjoyable in terms of flavor.

The “parrillada de verduras a la brasa con salsa romesco” (EUR 8.95) was a nice selection of different grilled vegetables, however, the size was – again – huge.

The “wok de pollo con verduras espolvoreado con anacardos” (EUR 8.95) was actually very enjoyable. The chicken was plenty and good in terms of taste. The vegetables were prepared in a perfect way so they were still a bit crunchy.

The place itself is nice if you get to sit in the little patio they have as it is nicely decorated and you get to enjoy the interior. The service is friendly and attentive and your orders are executed rather quickly making sure that you get everything you need within due time.

All in all, the Taberna Casa Globo turned out to be a good option for lunch. Simple dishes and quite enjoyable ones too – for a very fair price with a competent and swift service.
