Surprisingly lovely place in a hostel: Restaurant El Disparate (1. January 2019)
The El Disparate was recommended by the Guide Michelin 2020 app. When I arrived there I was rather surprised as the restaurant is part of a hostel. Now, prejudice or not, I did not expect a restaurant recommended by the Guide Michelin to be located in a hostel. However, the fact that I got the last available table that night which wasn’t pre-booked, showed that there is maybe more to the place than expected. I started with “patatas bravas ‘El Disparate'” (EUR 3.80) and “Anchoa del Cantábrico sobre pan con tomate” (EUR 2.50). The anchovy on bread wasn’t spectacular. The potatoes on the other hand were good and enjoyable.
The “arroz frito con tiras de ibérico marinado, vegetales y aceite de galanga” (EUR 12.50) which I had as a main course was good and perfect to calm down your stomach. With regards to all the dishes, the food wasn’t anything extraordinary but solid, good, and very enjoyable.
If you are looking to try out the El Disparate, which I can recommend, then I would definitely book a table in advance!
