Swift and good lunch offering: Restaurant Nektar (6. January 2020)
Although being in St. Gallen frequently, I somehow haven’t managed to pay the Nektar a visit and finally it was time. I went for the “menu soup” which was good but I found the little slices of bread a bit “uninspirational” really. However, the soup was good and wasn’t too hot so it was perfectly eatable.
The “red Thai curry with vegetables, chicken cubes and basmati rice” (CHF 24.90) was rich in terms of flavor and consistency. The only thing which was bothering me a bit was the size of the chicken cubes – it was more rather huge chunks of chicken which is fine in terms of total amount of chicken compared to the dish but they were huge so you had to cut them in four to six pieces to eat which is somehow not what you would expect (or at least it isn’t what I expect) of a curry to eat straight away.
The place is simple in terms of interior and friendly and they also make sure that your orders are executed rather quickly and you get your stuff within a decent amount of time. So, for a business lunch, I can recommend the Nektar.
