An absolutely great place to enjoy a good entrecôte: Restaurant Noir – Maison d’Entrecôte (10. February 2020)
While the starter was a bit disappointing, i.e. a “leaf salad with radish, chest nuts and djion mustard dressing” …
… the main course, an “Entrecôte “Gentleman’s Cut” (250gr) with Noir Signature Sauce” (CHF 59.00), was actually absolutely delicious. The meat was perfectly medium-rare as requested and the Noir Signature Sauce was quite enjoyable on top of that.
The “French fries” which were served à discretion were also quite delicious but could have been a tiny bit more crispy with regards to my personal preferences. The place itself is nice and quite atmospheric. The staff is super friendly and jovial and makes you feel welcome right away.
The price is quite fine for what you get which is also true for the beverages, i.e. 0,3l Hopfenbräu for CHF 5.00, a glass of Eneo (1dl) for CHF 11.00, a “double espresso” for CHF 6.50 and a bottle of water (0.5l) for CHF 8.50. The water is a bit on the expensive side but the rest seems absolutely reasonable to me. To sum it up, the Noir is definitely a great place to enjoy entrecôte – booking a table in advance is highly recommended!
