When airport restaurant food is much better than expected: Restaurant Oasis @ Narita Tobu Airport Hotel (18. March 2020)

| April 22, 2020 | 0 Comments

Given I had to rebook my return to Switzerland due to the Coronavirus (honestly, fuck you, virus!) and fly two weeks earlier, I was forced to stay at a hotel close to the airport and picked the Narita Tobu Airport Hotel which was surprisingly much better than expected. And the same applies to the restaurant food. I was expecting pretty much nothing given usually food close to the airport is not really known for its greatness but the food they offer in the Restaurant Oasis of the hotel was actually good.

I went for the “Steak-Don (beef steak on rice with Japanese pickles & miso soup)” (1’850 Yen) which was served quickly and was actually quite good. The rice was fine (of course, we’re in Japan!) and the beef slices were good in terms of texture (not very chewy, not a lot of fat) and were enjoyable.

The restaurant isn’t that appealing in terms of decoration but at least there is enough space between the single tables to ensure that you won’t be infected. The service is friendly and efficient – while placing the menu, he took the order and the kitchen was relatively fast, making sure you have everything you needed within no time. So, if you have to stay somewhere before flying out, the Narita Tobu Hotel is a good choice.
