Good pizzeria with social distancing measures implemented: Restaurant San Marco (5. June 2020)
The Restaurant San Marco is located on two floors – on the ground floor, there is the pizzeria and on the first floor, there is the actual restaurant. I do not think it makes much of a difference with regards to the menu but the atmosphere is definitely lovelier upstairs. The place was only semi-full and social distancing measures had been implemented so you’d have glass walls between the tables. Once seated, the waiter showed up immediately and brought the menu plus took up drink orders. Frankly, I was surprised how quickly it all happened but it was also absolutely perfect as I was starving.
I went for the “Pizza Rialto (tomato, mozzarella, spicy salami, garlic, oregano)” (CHF 22.50) and added anchovies (+ CHF ?). Frankly, the pizza was quite good but a tiny bit too oily for my taste. Yet, the combination of salami and anchovies is one I just love.
All in all, you get a good value for the price you pay – so, I can definitely recommend you to have lunch at the San Marco. It’s just crucial you would book a table in advance to make sure you’ll have space. I suppose on a sunny day (it was raining cats and dogs that day), it will actually be more difficult to score a table (especially if you want to sit outside).
