Delicious lunch menu but super slow kitchen: Restaurant Camino (25. June 2020)
So far, I was not aware of the fact that the Camino has a garden but there is actually a little garden in the back of the restaurant which is quite lovely in terms of view. It’s rather small but comfortable and it’s nice to sit outside when the weather is great.
I went for the lunch menu which started with a “cold watermelon soup with spring onions” which was refreshing but also had an intense taste of onion on top of it. Still, perfect though to cool down on a hot summer day.
The main course was a “fillet of gilthead served with spinach, potatoes and a curry foam” (CHF 36.00) which was a decent portion and actually surprisingly good in taste. Although I usually consider gilthead a bit boring, this version was actually very enjoyable.
The service is super friendly and attentive but the kitchen was unacceptably slow – it took them a solid 40 minutes to serve the main course after serving the starter, and frankly, for a quick business lunch, that is just way too much! In any case, the Camino does generally a good job as they serve you tasty lunch menus for a fair price while creating a comfortable atmosphere. Booking in advance is highly recommended!
