Service quality really differs with each visit: Restaurant terrasse (1. July 2020)

After the re-opening of restaurants after Corona, it became apparent that the staff is kind of out of exercise when it comes to service. Frankly, all friendly and good but it just took way too long for the dishes to arrive. I mean, a “cauliflower salad (cauliflower, parmesan, apple, carrots)” (CHF 13.00) isn’t really rocket science to prepare. At least not from how I consider the salad to be prepared. However, a solid 25 minutes between placing the order and finally getting the salad is a bit of an overkill in my book. And while the salad was good, it was not that good to apologize for the long waiting time.

The “meatloaf (morel sauce, potato mash)” (CHF 44.00) was somewhat interesting. The meatloaf was incredibly fine and tender, not like your typical meatloaf which is usually a bit more ‘grainy’ in terms of consistency. However, it was tasty. The morels were applied quite generously so you basically had (at least half) a morel with each bite. Again, it was a good dish but CHF 44.00 for that seems a bit off the charts.

To sit outside in the garden is absolutely lovely and very enjoyable to spend your time there, just make sure you have something like a sun umbrella as else you will definitely get sunburned. All in all, I like the terrasse but I must also say that the prices and the quality of the food do not entirely align – plus, the service was truly slow that day!
