Solid lunch option if you’re into burgers: Restaurant Helvti Dinner Bellevue (9. July 2020)

It’s about one and a half years ago since I’ve last paid the Helvti Dinner Bellevue a visit and I must say that it’s actually quite a good place for a quick – but admittedly heavy – lunch bite. I went for the “Swiss Burger (finest Swiss Angus beef, Swiss Alpine cheese, Rösti potatoes, cocktail sauce, and caramelized onions)” (CHF 23.50) with “chunky fries” (CHF 5.50) which was served within less than 10 minutes – which is very pleasant when you’re hungry. The burger was actually quite good – the meat was medium as requested, the bun was nicely crunchy but the fries were somehow not as crispy as I would have loved them to be. And the cocktail sauce I had ordered was also rather, let’s say ‘artificial’ which was a bit of a pity.

However, the food is absolutely decent, the “diner lemonade (freshly squeezed lemon juice, ginger-mint infusion with a hint of berry flavour)” (0.5L, CHF 9.50) on the other hand is overpriced for what you get. Which is basically a dash of syrup at the bottom of your glass and then some lemon water on top of it. So, not really that enjoyable. Given it was relatively warm that day and Corona is still a thing, we were seated outside – the atmosphere, however, isn’t really all that appealing. The waiter is friendly and does his job swiftly and efficiently. So, again, all in all, solid bet for a quick lunch – nothing more though.
