An incredibly cheesy cordon bleu worth trying: Restaurant Werdguet (16. July 2020)
The Restaurant Werguet is somehow a hidden gem as it is probably a place I would not have entered by my own but a friend suggested it as a meeting point to play ‘Jass’ (a typical Swiss card game) and it turned out to be a very good location to do exactly that plus have a traditional heavy Swiss meal. I went for the “veal cordon bleu filled with raw ham from the Grisons, gorgonzola and peperoncini” (CHF 46.00). What you get is a huge piece of meat. Well, actually, it’s not that much meat but it’s a huge something and once you cut it open you understand why it is so huge. The outer layer which is the meat is actually rather thing (like maybe 8mm) but the inside is stuffed with cheese – a lot of it! Delicious one too!
The salad which is served as a side dish was not only plenty but also good – and much more generous than I had expected.
On top of that, the place is atmospheric (as in, nice and traditional) and the waitresses are super friendly and attentive and definitely make your stay an enjoyable one with being very solution-oriented and jovial at the same time. While it has not been on my agenda so far, the Werdguet definitely has gained a place on my list.
