Lovely service but definitely overpriced food: Restaurant La Rôtisserie d’Argent (22. June 2020)
The Rôtisserie d’Argent is a typical French restaurant which is offering food even late in the evening. The waiters were relatively unhappy that I had walked in around 10:30 pm, but they still prepared the table in no time and – throughout the entire evening – were very friendly and caring. I went for a “palette of multicoloured tomatoes and feta with pesto” (EUR 13.00) which was rather interesting in terms of flavour as the tomatoes were rich and the combination of feta with pesto gave it the edge.
The main course, a “grilled beef filet, sauce béarnaise” (EUR 35.00) with French fries was grilled medium-rare as requested. The meat was lacking taste though – it was somehow rather bland and not very appealing. The fries, on the other hand, were surprisingly tasty as they looked stroppy but were actually nicely crispy.
The “tarte au citron” (EUR 10.00) which I had as a dessert was actually incredibly nice, although I’m usually not into sweets, this was a surprisingly refreshing dessert and wasn’t too sweet like it so often is.
The place itself is relatively small but nice in terms of interior decoration – it really feels like you’re in a French bistro (and, you are). I would like to outline again the friendliness of the waiters and their dedication to creating a lovely dining experience. What wasn’t so amazing though were the prices for the beverages – if a glass of white wine accounts for EUR 20.00, I believe that is a bit over the top. All in all though, the Rôtisserie d’Argent is a place you can definitely give a try – however, make sure you check what the beverages cost before ordering.
