Perfect Italian experience next to the Tour d’Eiffel: Restaurant Chez Pippo (28. June 2020)
When you are close to the Tour d’Eiffel you can find a variety of very touristic restaurants but there are also rather exquisite ones – the Chez Pippo is one of them. It is a relatively small Italian place which offers delicious Italian dishes and all of it with a very friendly and caring service.
I went for the “Burrata (150gr) – cherry tomatoes, olives, basil” (EUR 12.00) as a starter and I liked it a lot as the tomatoes were aromatic and the burrata was full of flavour. What was truly outstanding though was the bread – simple but perfectly oven-baked so you would just want to eat more and more of it.
The “gnocchi fatto en casa con speck” (EUR 18.00) were not exactly what I had expected as you basically got three slices of speck on top of the gnocchi – which was a bit confusing and made the flavour of speck incredibly intense. However, the home-made gnocchi were thick and absolutely delicious in terms of flavour. The cheesy sauce in which the gnocchi came was absolutely perfect.
I must say, I was incredibly positively surprised by the Chez Pippo – much better food than expected, much friendlier service than expected, and much cheaper than expected! All in all, I can recommend this restaurant despite its proximity to the Tour d’Eiffel.
