Decent for lunch but the service isn’t up to the task: Restaurant Public Burger (9. September 2020)
Attentiveness is definitely not one of their strongest points – the Public Burger might not be used to too many guests as it seems to be a rather new place which only opened recently but frankly, when the waitress looks straight at you (and there is no one else around) when you sit down and walks away instead of bringing you the menu, then you start to wonder. But once you’ve actually been able to place the order, the kitchen is at least relatively swift. I went for the “Skinny Burger (home-made beef burger, 160gr, with colorful salad, herb butter)” (CHF 25.90) which turned out to be better than expected in terms of meat quality but was also super generous in terms of salad size and variety of ingredients. I quite liked it, to be honest.
The “half an avocado, filled with sour cream” (CHF 6.00) was somewhat unspectacular but a nice side. Only considering how much it costs and how much you pay for it, made me cringe a bit. The “home-made ice tea” (CHF 7.00) on the other hand is actually very enjoyable.
All in all, the Public Burger is a decent place for a quick lunch – if only the service were more attentive, things would definitely be much better!
