If you’re into meat, don’t come on Tuesdays: Restaurant The Butcher & His Daughter (22. September 2020)
I had read about “The Butcher & His Daughter” lately and was quite intrigued by the reviews. What I didn’t know was that they have a “veggie day” on Tuesdays. So my tip is, don’t come on Tuesdays if you want to eat meat. To be fair, if you don’t want to eat vegetarian, they offer meat anyways, also on Tuesdays. You’re welcomed in a very friendly manner and guided to your table. I went for the “Pink Humus (humus, falafel, pomegranate)” (CHF 8.50) as a starter which was good and surprisingly tasty. I had, when ordering, asked the waiter to bring some more bread to be able to scoop up the hummus and he brought some more than would usually come with the dish which I highly appreciated.
The “Chorizo Beef & Cheese Burger (chorizo, secret cheesemix, spicy bbq sauce, fries)” (CHF 28.50) was quite a portion. But one to enjoy. The burger was tasty, the flavors were intense – but it was a bit too much food for me, especially since the buns were quite huge.
The place itself is nice in terms of interior decoration …
… and the service is swift and friendly. So, all in all, I can recommend The Butcher & His Daughter as the place is nice, the food is good, and the service is attentive and friendly. If you’re into meat, don’t come on Tuesdays.
