Surprisingly delicious burgers – worth trying: Restaurant Ketch Up (19. March 2021)

Since I hadn’t booked anything in advance, it was kind of hard finding anything on a Friday evening. However, I ended up being lucky since one table was just vacated and I was able to take it over. The Ketch Up is actually a simple but nice place with a lovely location in Bluewaters. The “chicken quesadilla with Jalapeño sauce” (AED 65) was surprisingly good. Although it didn’t have much to do with an actual quesadilla (I mean, conceptually, yes, but else, really not).

The “Ketch Up burger (large beef patty, special sauce and caramelized onions)” (AED 69) with “French fries” (AED 18) and “spicy sauce” (AED 6) is also a rather good combination. The beef patty of the Ketch Up burger is quite huge and the whole burger is actually quite big in diameter. But it’s not only big, they also manage to cook it as per request, so it was perfectly medium-rare! And in combination with the different ingredients, the burger really made for a great bite!

They also offer a few different home-made lemonades, so I decided to go for the “passion fruit & mint jar” (AED 45) which was not only good but also super refreshing. What I like about the place is the fact that it’s super busy, that it has a nice view, and quick service. And the food is actually decent too. Only in terms of overall atmosphere, there is room for improvement. I.e., the interior design (at least on the ground floor; upstairs seems to be for members only) was really not appealing.
