A good tapas pit stop after a round of golf at Son Vida: Restaurant La Bodega del Green @ Sheraton Mallorca Arabella Golf Hotel (4. April 2021)

What I love about eating in Spain is the fact that your lunch or dinner always starts with a few nibbles like “bread, aioli and olives” which bears, of course, also the risk that you eat way too much but with some tasty aioli, that’s a sin easily forgiven and forgotten.

The “croquetas ibéricas artesanas (home-made Iberian ham croquettes)” (EUR 12.00) to start lunch were quite perfect since they are aromatic and intense in flavor without being too intense.

The “calamares Andaluza con chilli-aioli (fried calamari style with chili-aioli)” (EUR 18.00) and the “pimientos de padrón fritos con escamas de sal (fried Padrõn peppers with salt flakes)” (EUR 9.00) were different in terms of my personal assessment. While I liked the pimientos de padrón quite a lot, the calamares were somehow a bit too dry for me.

The “gambon al ajillo (red prawns in garlic oil and chili)” (EUR 21.00) looked delicious but somehow I was hoping for a bit more garlic right there. They were more like cooked prawns in a bit of garlic oil. Personally, I like it when you can really taste that garlic.

What is nice about the place, besides that fact that you get to sit outside in early April, is the service. The staff is super friendly and attentive and does a great job at making you feel comfortable and welcome. The “helado (almond and mandarin sorbet ice cream)” (EUR 3.50 per scoop) was actually nice and refreshing too.

So, all in all, while the La Bodega del Green is definitely not the most sophisticated food I have had in Mallorca, it is absolutely decent and enjoyable and I can definitely recommend it for a brief stop after a round of golf at Son Vida.
