Delicious Zürcher Geschnetzeltes with lovely service: Restaurant Zunfthaus zur Waag (10. June 2021)
It was finally time to celebrate the time to be allowed to visit restaurants again and the nice weather – so the Zunfthaus zur Waag is definitely a great place to do exactly that. The “Viennese Schnitzel with cranberries” (CHF 48.00) remains a safe bet. The schnitzel is nicely thin, just how it should be, and the breading is absolutely perfectly crispy and yet light enough to be enjoyable.
The “potato-cucumber-salad” which comes with it is simple yet perfectly aromatic.
What I liked even more though was the “sliced veal “Zurich style” with calf’s kidneys and ‘rösti'” (CHF 43.00) – the Zürcher Geschnetzeltes is just perfect. The meat and the kidneys are cooked perfectly and the sauce is absolutely delicious. In combination with a perfectly crispy roesti, it makes for the perfect main course.
Besides that, it is lovely to sit outside on the Münsterhof and enjoy the sun. Last but not least, the service is friendly, attentive, and made sure the orders were taken quickly, the dishes were served swiftly, and that you’d just feel allout comfortable as a customer.
