Delicious burgers in a semi-optimal setting: Restaurant Burgermeister Escherwyss (25. June 2021)
When I had driven by the Burgermeister in the past, it was only a semi-appealing place. However, after having visited it once, I can say that I’ll definitely return again. I went for the “Langstrassenburger (home-made bread, double beef patty, BBQ sauce, mayonnaise, pickles, salad, red onions, tomatoes, double cheddar, bacon, jalapeños)” (CHF 22.90). And while it definitely doesn’t look too appealing in the picture (also because it’s upside down), I must say that the burger is actually nice. The combination of flavors and textures makes for a great dish – when it comes to the beef patties: They are prepared so they are very enjoyable all in all. However, what is a bit of a downside is the fact that they were – in my personal opinion – a bit overcooked (just a tiny bit) but still juicy and delicious.
The “regular fries” (CHF 5.50) which I took with the burger were okay too. Not too stroppy or anything like that but really, nice crispy, regular fries.
To be fair, you’ll be in a food coma after you’ve eaten this (at least for me it felt that way) but I can definitely recommend it since the food is great and the burger is juicy (a bit overcooked in my case) ad the fries are perfectly crispy as they should be. Due to Covid you still have to place your order at the counter and then pick it up which kind of ruins the restaurant experience – but if the weather is nice outside, you can sit there and that makes it actually an overall decent experience.
