Delicious vegetarian dishes for lunch – slow service: Restaurant House of Do An (3. July 2021)

| July 30, 2021 | 0 Comments

Although my view about vegetarian only places has changed over the past years, I’m still a bit skeptical. But I suppose with each visit, it gets a bit better. The House of Do An offers vegetarian dishes and I must say, they are quite delicious. What wasn’t so great was the speed of the service. If you have to wait more than 5 minutes to get the menu and another more than 5 minutes in the end to get the bill, then something is off.

Other than that, the dishes were served rather quickly and they are actually delicious. The “Wild Forest (lemon grass, seitan, avocado, beetroot, rocket salad, carrot, sticky rice, peanuts)” with “plummy almond sauce” (EUR 4.50) were delicious. The whole thing was a rather sticky deal but it was good in terms of flavor, crunchiness, and taste.

The “Spicy Summer Bowl (rice noodles, fresh vegetables, Vietnamese herbs, peanuts, roasted onions, refined with a lemon grass dressing)” (EUR 9.90) was actually good but a bit too boring in terms of taste from my perspective. And the peanuts were applied too generously. Other than that, the dish was refreshing and overall good.

Somehow I didn’t read properly that the drinks I had ordered were teas, so I was a bit surprised about that but the “Green VN Tea (Vietnamese green tea)” (EUR 2.90) as well as the “Lemongrass Lover (mint, lemongrass, ginger sirup)” (EUR 3.50) were both great.

To sum it up, the House of Do An is a good choice if you are into vegetarian dishes – refreshing, fair in price, friendly service, but slow service. The atmosphere of the place is decent but definitely nothing exceptional.
