Regular Italian dishes in a decent atmosphere: Restaurant Mozzarella Bar & Bottega (3. July 2021)
The place is focusing on Mozzarella so one shouldn’t expect too much but mozzarella but the menu was rather limited in terms of choice. Now, I’m not saying that a menu should be super exhaustive either since then it’s often not that great since all of it is kind of on the menu and, therefore, not so good. But the selection was really a bit thin.
In any case, I went for the “roastbeef con rucola, lamelle di mandorle tostate e vinaigrette di senape al miele (roastbeef with rocket salad, roasted almonds and a honey mustard vinaigrette)” (EUR 14.50) as a starter which was surprisingly good. The meat quality was decent but in combination with the honey mustard vinaigrette it actually made for a good dish!
The “tagliatelle con gamberi e pesto di pistacchi (tagliatelle with king prawns and pistachio pesto)” (EUR 16.50) was similarly good. I mean, the pasta was definitely overcooked and not al dente but other than that, the dish was actually good. And the king prawns were well cooked and actually generously applied.
From a service perspective, the bar wasn’t entirely optimal – the guys were there, they were jovial, and they were helpful but they were also a bit slow. So, to sum it up, all in all, the Mozzarella Bar & Bottega is a nice place with a decent food offering but has some room for improvement.
