Delicious dishes and great service until the very end: Restaurant Lutter & Wegner am Gendarmenmarkt (4. July 2021)
About five years ago, I paid the Lutter & Wegner am Gendarmenmarkt a visit – and I must say that it is definitely a place you can visit again. I went for the “iced melon tomato soup with coriander croutons” (EUR 10.50) which was actually delicious and very refreshing for a hot summer afternoon like this day. The portion was a bit small to be honest but other than that, it was actually very enjoyable.
The “beef tatar from Holstein served with truffle cream from Piedmont and roasted farmer’s bread” (EUR 24.50) was much better than I had anticipated. The beef tatar was truly delicious and in combination with the truffle cream quite exceptional. Somehow I didn’t have high expectations but it turned out to be quite good.
Throughout the whole seating, the service was exquisite – until the very end when I had asked for the bill. Suddenly, this very simple request took them like 10+ minutes. Not sure why, and I really don’t get it conceptually how you do not want to ’empty’ another table. Other than that, big thumbs up for Lutter & Wegner am Gendarmenmarkt.
