Decent hotel restaurant experience by the river shore: Restaurant Grissini (27. July 2021)
Sometimes hotel restaurants are actually quite a good solution. This is the case with the Restaurant Grissini which is located right in front of the hotel close to the river bank and is part of the hotel. The selection of dishes is relatively limited but still nice and they have fair selection of dishes like the “beef filet (200g), rosemary potaotes, jus” (EUR 31.90) which was okay. The meat was fine, the sauce was delicious, and the rosemary potatoes were decent. I somewhat liked the dried but not so dry tomatoes and I’m usually not a fan of warm/hot tomatoes.
The place is okay but definitely nothing great. I mean, the pure fact that they actively offer seats outside and then don’t make sure that they are actually dry enough so you would not get wet pants when sitting down speaks somehow for itself. In any case, the Restaurant Grissini is okay to do a stop when you are staying at the Hyatt Regency Cologne anyways. Else, I’d probably not do the trip.
