A barber shop speak easy where it was not expected: Bobby’s Free (6. August 2021)
When you randomly walk into a speakeasy – that’s exactly what happened, when I discovered the Bobby’s Free. The place looks like a barbershop from outside and you’re treated like you’re a barber customer when you enter. Now, the thing is that I was somehow not aware of the speakeasy factor since I just discovered the place as a bar on Google Maps so I was walking by a couple of times before actually walking in. And of course I didn’t know the password but through elaborate guessing, one made it in.
They offer a nice selection of drinks like e.g., “Passion Mule (Skyy vodka, passion fruit, cinnamon, lime, ginger beer)” (EUR 10.00) which was nice and refreshing.
Or the “Why Not Julep (Pisco Governador, apple, basil, vanilla, elderflower)” (EUR 12.50) which was even more refreshing. But drinks were prepared rather quickly which I appreciate a lot.
On top of that, the place is quite nice in terms of atmosphere and definitely cool when you think about the entrance.
If you want to go, you should ideally make sure to book a table in advance and, of course, that you know the password in advance which is easily to be found on the homepage of the bar. Definitely a cool experience!
