Quite an amazing bar for gin-based cocktails: Botanical Affairs Bar (10. August 2021)
Berlin will never be my city – being declined to enter an empty club due to the fact that you are wearing a shirt. I mean, come on! In any case, sometimes this also leads to lucky circumstances like finding the Botanical Affairs Bar which was quiet (not many visitors) but offers a nice selection of gin-based cocktails. I started with the “Persian Peach Smash (Gin, peach, lemon, sugar)” (EUR 13.50) which was refreshing and overall lovely in terms of flavor.
Next in line was the “Blackberry Nordés (Nordés Gin, blackberry, lemon, sugar)” (EUR 13.50) which was incredibly intense in terms of berry-ness. The flavor of blackberry is all over and, therefore, really takes you to a fruity journey.
The “Raspberry Basil Smash (Gin, basil, raspberry, lemon, sugar)” (EUR 13.50) did not taste much like basil since the main flavor was, obviously, raspberry. However, it was still a tasty experience.
On top of that, the bar itself is quite nice in terms of atmosphere and interior design. And last but not least, the bartender was not only friendly but also jovial and joking in a nice way. So, all in all, maybe not the best known bar but definitely a nice spot which offers a lovely gin-based drinks experience.
