Delicious experience in a nice backyard: Restaurant Bless – The Cuisine of Indochina (11. August 2021)
Luckily, there are options in Berlin still worth discovering when it comes to food experiences. The Bless only opened recently and offers a nice selection of Indochinese dishes in a lovely atmosphere and with friendly service. I went for the “Inchi chicken (Indochinese variation of classic ‘fried chicken’ with chili mayo)” (EUR 5.00) as a first starter and I must say, it was a tasty dish. It was breaded a bit too much for my gusto since the bread crumbs were falling off quite a bit which made the whole thing a bit too dry but else it was great.
The main was even better – the “Château Boef (grilled beef filet, shimeji mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, wild broccoli, crispy lotus flowers, black pepper sauce, truffle mayo)” (EUR 27.00) was the perfect combination of intense flavor and fresh ingredients. Totally loved it! And the meat was cooked to perfection – the fact that they added wild broccoli really just made it an outstanding meal.
Since I was still a bit hungry, I went for the “Petits Bisous (5 dumplings: shiitake, prawn, chicken, beef, seafood caviar)” (EUR 7.00) for dessert and I must say, they were great. They came incredibly fast (like max. 5 minutes after having placed the order) but they were delicious and very enjoyable. The fact that they are served in a bed of soy sauce and do not come with separate soy sauce was kind of confusing, but still, tasty.
They have terrace in front of the restaurant as well as one in the back. If you manage to get a table in the back, you should definitely do so. Other than, the services is friendly and attentive and swift – so really just what you need in a good restaurant experience. Although the place wasn’t very full that evening, I would highly recommend you to book a table in advance.
